Boldings report    31-8-17.

Sorry its late Ed, had a rough week.

Caster was king in the Monday open at Boldings pools, setting Paul Evans [PI Boldings] on the road to victory at Chestnut peg 21. Presenting the bait down the shelf put Paul in contact with carp to 6lbs and bream to 3lbs as he built a 107-9-0 winning haul.

Round at peg 30 on the same pool Jason Atwell [Kingswinford] went for a pellet and corn approach to bag 81-15-0 of carp to 8lbs and bream to 2lbs to fill second place. Peg 36 produced 73-11-0 to give Mick Foan [PI Bold] third, while a Sycamore Pool top weight of 68-0-0 from peg 13 put Danny Boden [Oakengates Ang Cent] into fourth.

The Willows Pool was well below par for the Wednesday open and 64-8-0 saw Harry Colley [PI Boldings] record the first leg of a winning double. Using his standby bait combo of pellet, meat and corn, Harry found carp to 7lbs and some of the pools better barbel, fish to 5lbs, to end the day on 64-8-0 at peg 9.

Mick Foan made the mix again, picking up second this time with 60-10-0 of carp and barbel on corn and pellet waggler at peg 7. Graham Palmer [Fitters] was next door at peg 8, and had 54-10-0 for third, and Jason Atwell put in his second appearance in the frame by scaling 48-8-0 at peg 16.

Harry Colley returned to top spot on Thursday, when the open was fished on the Sycamore. Harry drew peg 30, where close in tactics had carp and bream slipping over the rim of the net, with fish of 8lbs and 3lbs adding up to 94-13-0.

Eric Bancroft [PI Bold] was tight behind in second, having netted carp to 9lbs on paste and meat in the sides at peg 8, he finished just over a pound short on 93-9-0. Third came from peg 34 when Jamie Langford [PI Bold] scaled 58-1-0 and opposite him, at peg 21 Graham Roberts [PI Bold] weighed 50-13-0 in fourth.

The Willows Pool was coming back into form on Sunday and a mix of carp and barbel helped Mark Rathbone [St Francis] into the top slot. Pegged on number 17, Mark worked pellet and corn at 10 metres and down the side to net fish of 8lbs and 4lbs respectively, and ended the match with figures of 98-14-0.

Gareth Emlyn [Oak Ang Cent] finished one fish behind with a Larch Pool best of 93-2-0, having caught carp to 7lbs on close in maggot at peg 8. Back on the Willows Eric Bancroft made the list again, his 83-13-0 from peg 22 giving him third.
